Light Aircraft makes emergency landing in a maize field near Parys

A light aircraft crash-landed in an open field between Parys and Kroonstad this morning. The aircraft had done an emergency landing in a maize field east of Parys near the Weiveld silo and N1. The aircraft's nose wheel broke off during the landing and just missed power lines. None the less the pilot executed a succcessful emergency landing in the maize field.
ER24's Werner Vermaak said, “The man sustained minor injuries to his lower leg and later declined to go to hospital.”
“The 13-year-old girl was treated for possible back injuries and transported by ambulance to the Potchefstroom Mediclinic for further medical management," he added.
