Donsang fire at Cape Town dock enters sixth day
Fire fighters are spending a sixth day battling a blaze on board a South Korean fishing trawler moored in Cape Town.
They are still struggling to get inside the heart of the Donsang, where the main blaze is isolated.
The vessel is listing to one side as water has flooded the hold.
There are concerns the blaze may still pose a threat to tons of toxic ammonia and diesel on board.
Cape Town Fire Services Theo Layne says more than 20 fire fighters are on scene.
“They are just cooling down the ship to maintain a temperature. We cannot board the vessel at this time as it is still unsafe to do so,” he says.
