Fire leaves 17 homeless

MOSSEL BAY NEWS - Seventeen people from KwaNonqaba were left homeless after nine shacks burned down on Saturday afternoon.

It is believed that there was a quarrel between two residents after which a suspect set a shack alight. The fire then spread and burnt down a further eight shacks.

No one was seriously injured.

The police are investigating the case and the fingerprint unit visited the area this morning.
The police have the details of the man who allegedly started the fire.

The homeless people now stay with friends and family in other shacks.
