Approximately 40 fire fighting colleagues from the Western Cape region participated in this demanding competition.

Lottering and Van Niekerk were fourth and fifth respectively.
The aim of the competition is to prepare the fire fighters for the national and international competitions for the ‘Toughest fire fighter alive’.
Competitors had to run while carrying a 30m hose and breathing apparatus. They also had to carry various tools and a 90kg dummy through tunnels and climb over a 3m high wall.
