Woman's arm lodged in meat mincer; critically injured

A woman is fighting for her life in a Fourways private medical facility after she was critically injured at a meat packing factory in Diepsloot this morning.

The cause of the incident and the series of events leading up to it remain unclear.
Common cause information indicates that the woman had been feeding meat into a mechanical mincer when her arm became lodged in the moving parts. The woman managed to free herself from the machine.

Netcare911 Paramedics arrived there to find the woman on the factory floor in a critical condition, having sustained severe upper limb trauma. Medics immediately initiated care, stabilising her at the scene and transporting her by ambulance to the private hospital for the urgent care she required.

No one else was injured in the incident.
