Cold Front move in over South Africa. 12 - 13 August 2011

The Western and Eastern Cape Provinces are in for another spell of very cold, wet and stormy wind conditions. This is the result of the cold front which is expected to make landfall today on the 12th of August 2011 over the Western Cape.
This cold front will result in freezing levels dropping over the high lying areas of the Western and Northern Cape where snowfalls are expected by tonight and tomorrow morning. By tomorrow the very cold and wet conditions are expected to spread to the Eastern Cape where snowfalls are possible over the high lying areas, spreading to Lesotho.

WATCHES:Valid 12/08/2011

1. A gale force westerly wind is expected between Table Bay and Plettenberg Bay. 2. Very rough seas with waves heights from 4m to 6m is expected between Cape Point and Plettenberg Bay by evening. 3. Very cold conditions expected to set in over the western high ground in the evening. 4. Very cold conditions expected to set in over the southern high ground of the Northern Cape. 5. A gale force westerly wind is expected between Plettenberg Bay and Cape St Francis overnight.

ADVISORIES: Valid 13/08/2011

1. A gale force westerly wind is expected to persist between Table Bay and Plettenberg Bay. 2. Very rough seas with waves heights from 4m to 6m is expected between Cape Point and Plettenberg Bay Friday night spreading to Alexander Bay Saturday. 3. Very cold conditions still persisting over the western high ground spreading to the eastern parts. 4. Very rough seas with waves heights from 4 to 6m is expected between Cape Columbine and Alexander Bay Saturday. 5. Very cold conditions still persisting over the southern high ground of the Northern Cape.
6. A gale force westerly wind (35kt) is expected along then coast between Plettenberg Bay and Port Alfred. 7. Very rough seas with waves heights from 4 to 6m is expected between Plettenberg Bay and Port St. Johns on Sunday afternoon. 8. Very cold conditions are expected over the interior on Saturday.
