Num rallies miners after rockfall death

A rockfall on Tuesday killed one mineworker and injured another at a Harmony Gold mine in the Free State.

The National Union of Mineworkers (Num) said the latest incident has once again raised questions about South African mine safety.

It said workers will take their concerns to the streets of Johannesburg over the weekend.

They want companies to abide by safety regulations and meet their wage demands.

Num’s Lesiba Seshoka said they expect thousands of workers to take part in the march.
