No more snow expected

Johannesburg - No more snow was expected for Johannesburg or the rest of the country, the SA Weather Service said on Saturday.

"We are not expecting much in terms of looks like it's going to be clear for most of the country," forecaster Dipou Tawana said.

Light snow fell over some Johannesburg areas on Friday including Auckland Park, Northcliff, Benoni, and Boksburg.

It came days after unusual weather caused chaos in parts of the country.

On Tuesday, snow fell heavily in the Warden, Harrismith and Van Reenen's Pass areas, reaching depths in excess of one metre.

As a result, many motorists and truck drivers were left stranded along the N3 freeway.

The economic cost of road closures caused by snow falls in KwaZulu-Natal was an estimated R400m.
