Email: CYCLONE HOAX

The SAWDIS has been flooded with emails wanting to know if there is a cyclone active to the east of the country heading towards Kwazulu Natal. The SAWDIS can confirm that the email currently circulating is a hoax.

The latest weather satellite image show no cyclone activity near Madagascar or South Africa.

Although heavy rain is currently experienced in the Kwazulu Natal province the system currently responsible for the rain is not related to any cyclonic activity!!
